My opinion of the new rating system.

Yes, on lichess you win fractions of points.

I ran a simulation using the same library as lichess, where, after beating the same player 1000 times, beating him another 9000 times only gave you ~1pt (!!). I don't know exactly how lichess uses the library though, so it may not apply immediately.
I feel like the pool rating and all the other ratings should be separated. The pool rating is very deflated because of the lack of players that play in lichess pool. My 3 minute blitz rating (I say this because I play mostly 3 minute games) is 1720 but my pool rating for 3 minutes is 1210. My bullet rating is 1502 my pool 1 minute is 1358. The pool is nice but because of the lack of not players in pool the rating for most players is very heavily negatively effected except for the really good players. It makes me feel like there are only two types of players in pools average and those who are fide masters. The fide masters always win and every one else loses. This is how I feel about the change I am not making out my OPINION to be fact or law it is just an opinion based on my observations and I ask it to be considered.
Thanks

I think there's a mass misunderstanding on how ratings work.

Ratings aren't /merged/. The only /merged/ rating is the Standard rating as it's based upon the time control ratings.

If you play a game in a pool, your Pool rating is calculated against your opponent's Pool rating, and your Time Control rating is calculated against your opponent's Time Control rating.

Your Time Control/Standard rating won't be brought down because your Pool rating is low, that's not how ratings work.
In extension, this is exactly how it was before the rating changes. Your Time Control ratings were still calculated in Pool matches before everything changed.
I didn't read all the posts here, but I just want to say my opinion on new rating system: I think there's too much ratings and it's not easily understood. For exemple, when I create a match with rating filter, I hav sometimes players with upper rating... So, I dont understand why! May be a bug?
This should have been fixed a few hours ago. Post back if the issue persists.
Seaturtle:
You realize jerry at 3000 points would have to beat min 2500 players repeatedly to get any (1) points right? "lower rated" in that case is like the best on the site. Even at 2500 beating 2000+ players w/o losing is really really difficult.
By the way it was 4000 and on a very old and very broken chess.com rating system.
