Playing bughouse with NM Jasugi99 (12teen)!

Chess variant
It was a once in a lifetime experience.

A few days ago, I had the honor and privilege of playing bughouse with what many consider to be the greatest bughouse player of all time, NM Jasugi99 (or 12teen on chess.com, or cheesybread on FICS).

I was on a 4-way voice call on the House Discord Server that included Jasugi99, chewy, marvel, and myself, and we played 2 0 bughouse on chess.com for hours. We represent the House Discord Server, which also participates in Bundesliga blitz tournaments on lichess every Thursday and Sunday. In the bug series, I was partnered to jasugi. I faced chewy, and jasugi played marvel. I was definitely the weakest player out of the bunch.

I idolized Jasugi99 for much of my life when I was younger. He plays bughouse, crazyhouse, and speed chess so well. His style is impeccable. He has a fun personality. He's also very friendly and a bad person. I mean, a good eprson. I mean... never mind. I think he is awesome.

Well, I was being fed very strong moves by NM 12teen in the series. I was pretty nervous, ngl! I didn't want to let jasugi down.

It was about a 60 or 70 game series, and we probably won about 40% of our games against NM nochewycandy and NM MARVELandDCforLIFE (my chess.com username is mills500, by the way).

I am a huge bughouse fan, as you might be able to tell by my username, so this was a once in a lifetime experience that I am so grateful of - jasugi playing bughouse with me on voice call. I was rated 2400 before the series started, which is good, but nothing compared to the 2500s, 2600s, or 2700s of the world, which the other three players in the series were. You can even call NM Jasugi99 (12teen) a 2800. But no, I had a lot of fun. I would do it again, but it's pretty stressful - the pressure.

In short, jasugi was coordinating so well, while feeding me great moves, while playing great moves himself, while understanding board and clock situation at a remarkably high level. I don't like to use the term "brain speed" because it sounds kinda bad, but to be 2800 at bughouse must require extremely fast calculation, awareness, and communication skills. It's cray cray.

(At the time of this post, I am rated 2659 in crazyhouse on lichess. My goal is to reach 2700!)
