How are correspondence games counted for recent activity on the leaderboard?

The lichess FAQ says (lichess.org/faq#leaderboards) that one of the criteria for getting onto a leaderboard is "have played a rated game within the last week for this rating". How does this work for correspondence games? I could think of a few different ways this could be interpreted:

1. Have started a rated game within the last week
2. Have completed a rated game within the last week
3. Have played a move in a rated game within the last week

Could someone clarify how this works for me?
the way it works is there simply aren't any correspondence leaderboards.
afaik, this is not linked anywhere on the site. i am honestly surprised it is still there.
