In the game lichess.org/4yBzk71YEayb, my opponent and I each had 3 seconds. After we each had played the first move, the amount of time that I had for my next move started increasing. My opponent's timer was frozen while my time was going up. It stopped going up at 3 minutes and 2 seconds. I wanted to make sure the same thing doesn't happen to other players.

u were playing 0+2, meaning that your original time is 0 (3 seconds), and for every move made, 2 seconds increment is added

Hey, no need to panic, I will tell you. The only possible explanation is that OP's opponent added 3 mins to the clock of OP via the + button.
