I was playing a tournament game, made my move but my timer was still counting down.
I tried to open Lichess in another tab to see if it is still working and the site was down.
After about 20 seconds, the site was up again and then I was given a loss in the game that I was playing.
I think that there should be a way to account for such situations when the server is down and resume from where the disconnect happened.
lichess didn't go down today. Probably your connection did.
I just lost a game just like u because of lag or disconnection that sux I was completly winning :(

Actually lichess went down for me too about the same time as this post, 40-50 minutes ago.
I think it did do down for a short while, about 30 seconds. I tried opening the Lichess site and it showed that it is down. I tried other sites and they worked well.
Other times when disconnects happened, either on my side or on the opponent side, when the reconnect happened, the time went back to where it was before and the game resumed.
I am not sure why this time a loss was awarded without the game resuming.
Maybe in those cases there were user side disconnects and in this case it happened on the server side.
same thing happened to me.
its happened before too. I guess around 9/10 times i get a lose from it too. oh well.
It's interesting to see how everybody always loses when there's a technical issue. Extremely seldomely does someone get a win out of it.
I don't play on my account anymore only because of the constant "Reconnecting" issue.
I only play on Anonymous mode, it's a little bit less frustrating.
With all the respect due to people running this website, it seems there's a real issue somewhere. And playing Anonymously I don't care about losing or gaining points.
Besides, my connection is fine thank you.
@Omagad: Maybe there are issues based on location, but form me it happens very very rarely to be disconnected due to the server and I play almost every day.
I reported it this time because I thought that there was a bug somewhere that caused the game not to resume.
Usually I play here using Chrome and I never had an issue. My open challenges are always displayed until some player takes the challenge.
Some days ago I tried lichess using Mozilla Firefox and every 10 or 15 seconds or so, the red light "reconnecting" flashed (and I had for sure no internet connection problems on my side..) and I recognized that in Firefox my open challenges always disappear, I have to repeat the challenge all 15 seconds or so
Well, no big thing on my side as I use Chrome usually. But maybe this information is helpful for somebody.
