Chinese chess championship
This is the biggest chess tournament in China. Wei Yi won this tournament in 3 consecative year in 2015,2016 and 2017.
In 2015 he scored an epic 7.5 out of 10 and also beting Ding Liren but eventually lossing to Lu Shanglei in the last round by an victory overoll. He also was the Youngest even chiese player ever to win the chinese chess championship.
In 2016, it wasnt even close, Wei Yi won the tournament more than 1.5 point ahead of the 2nd place winner winning 4 games, 7 draws and 0 losses.
In 2017, it was a close call and being lota of up and downs for all the players but eventually won bye Wei Yi for the 3rd time.

As a team-mate, He won the 41st chess olympiad in 2014 by winning 4/5 games and winning the world team chess championship in 2015. He also placed 2nd in the World junior chess championship behing the champ Lu Shanglei. He ownes the chess game of the decade (2010-2020) after beating Lazaro Bruzon Batista by sawrming his king to the middle of the board after sacrificing piece after piece. People said that Alireza Firouzja (who is the youngest player to reach 2800) is the modern Wei Yi due to the very aggressive and Dynamic chess and always try to win with the white and black pieces

Static or Dynamic deciesion from Wei Yi????
this question being popular after Wei Yi vanished unconciesly and did not participate for any chess tournament and he did not play a classic game for 3 years (2020-2023) due to the extream restriction in china due to the pandemic, he did not even play online chess at that time, so, people started to think that he is retied unofficially. but no one did not thought what will happened next.

Tata Steel
Wei Yi won the Tata Steel challenger in the 2015 by scoring 10.5 out of 13 and eventually playing in the masters in 2016. In the 78th Tata steel, Wei Yi scored 6.5 out of 13 and finishing 7th out of 14 players
In 2017, Wei Yi again participated in the annual Tata Steel chess tournament and eventually won the 5th play.

after 2017, suprisingly, he played in the 2024 Tata Steel. the reason for this is because he played in the master in 2016-2018 which is a weird valid reason but it is in the rules.
No one thiught the this is Wei Yi's tournament, he won 6 games 5 draws and 2 losses. he losses to Gukesh D in the 2nd round and to Alireza Firouzja whom had the same streangth and Ability that Wei Yi had 10 years after. it was meant to be a 3 way tied for 1st but no one thought that Wei Yi be the 4th participant and fter winning the last 3 games of the tournament
The 4 player tied for 1st was Wei Yi, Nodierbek Abdusatorrov,Anish Giri, and Gukesh D.
the blitz play offs were between Wei Yi vs Nodierbek and Anish vs Gukesh.
Wei Yi demolished Nodierbek in the play offs. Anish won the 1st game vs Gukesh and Gukesg win the rest of the games
the finalists were Wei Yi and Gukesh.
The 1st 2 games weren't nothing special and ended in a draw. it all comes down to the final game. every one thought that Gukesh would win because he is an active player in the world more than Wei Yi. but, eventually Wei Yo won the tournament by winning against Gukesh in the final round, he was the 1st and only chinese player to win Tata Steel, he even did not play a blitz game for 4 years. This was an epic comeback for the chinese chess prodogy whom meant to be a champ even he hasn't play chess.
