How to make chess exciting to audience?

Just act shocked after every move. OH MY GOD the WORLD CHAMPION HAS PLAYED THE INCREDIBLE E4 WERE IN FOR A----WHOOOOA DID KARJAKIN JUST PLAY E5?!?!

More weight should be given to each and every move. So that the audience almost gets an orgasm whenever the players make a move, and if they make them quickly it becomes a mosh pit.
Does yelling "Goooooaaaaalllll" in soccer make it an exciting game?
I don't believe chess can be made exciting for an audience. Even for club players like myself I find the game interesting and stimulating to anticipate, but its not exciting in the same way as a nascar race or public spectacle.
I don't think there is any real need to make chess exciting for an audience. It's a game. It's a game we enjoy playing a lot, but it's a game. I don't sit around wondering how to make Carcassone or Splendor, or any other board game I love interesting for an audience. The only thing that matters to me is that it's interesting for the people playing it.

To me, making drastic changes to make it more popular would be something I would be against. I like the game as it is and don't care if anyone else does. And no, I don't care if there are big world championship matches that are televised with multi-million dollar prize pools. I just want to play and enjoy chess as it is.
